VanLife on Pause

If you’ve been keeping up with my newsletters, you know that I haven’t traveled in my van in quite some time. This is for multiple reasons, mainly because life took a different path and I ended up moving to Colorado long term. The last time that I stayed in my van was in August when I took a solo trip to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The build has been relatively untouched since then. I use it daily as it is my only vehicle, but I haven’t used it for camping purposes. Back in November, I installed a cheap ceiling and that has now fallen down. It truly has been neglected the past few months.

Now that the weather is starting to improve here in Colorado, I am finding more motivation to work on repairing the build. I started documenting this on video, so check out my Instagram to follow along with that. I spent a few minutes cleaning everything out of my van and tearing out the rest of the ceiling to see what I was working with. I left my bed frame and cabinet installed and will most likely keep those in tact to cut down on additional expenses. I am working on a very tight budget, so I’ll be starting with minor repairs to improve the build. Then I’ll move onto larger projects such as the ceiling, shelving, and possibly redoing the floor.

I am looking forward to making these improvements and traveling in it once again. I have a few months between leases this summer, so the van is calling my name!
